What are Charity Miles?

So, you've probably stumbled onto this portion of my site wondering what "Charity Miles" are? Charity Miles is actually a cool app that Cliff referred to me (here's the link to the iPhone app and the link to the Android app). Basically, whenever you have the itch to go for a walk, just take your trusty smart device with you to track your miles and time. Before you begin your walk, you'll have the option to choose which charity will benefit from your exercise. Two of my favorites are Feeding America and ASPCA. And I don't have to wait for an actual benefit walk in order to benefit my favorite charities.

Now that I've summed up what "Charity Miles" are, the question is what do I plan to do. For now, I plan to walk a few times a week during my lunch hour (and maybe some weekend strolls with Cliff, our Tiny Dancer and the pups) to benefit various charities. This is a great way to give back to the community while doing something really good for myself. Now, not only will I feel good from the exercise endorphins, I'll also feel good about being selfless.

Whenever I do some "Charity Miles", I'll post a picture here that shows my obligatory post-workout selfie, the amount of miles I conquered, the time it took me to conquer those miles and how the charity benefited. But I won't limit this section of my site to only using this app. Anytime I do something for charity, I really want to catalog it here. It will help me see how I'm doing, and I can set goals for myself from month to month. I'm really excited about this, and I hope you all will join me in this quest.
